Chinese smartphone maker Realme has started rolling out the latest software update to the Realme X50 Pro smartphone. The update brings the UI version RMX2076PU_11_A.19 to the device along with the Android security patch for the month of April.

Realme says that it will have a staged roll out in order to ensure the stability of this update. It will be randomly pushed out to a limited number of users initially and will have a broader roll out in a few days. The update roll out was announced by the company in a post through its official community forum.

Changelog with the update includes added Vivid mode to Screen Color mode, changed charging icon and fix for the screen rounded corner problem. Key change that the latest version brings is that it optimizes the quality of photos and adds the ability to record 60FPS 4K videos. It also brings a fix for screen redness at the low brightness in some scenes and optimizes network stability.

Realme X50 Pro: Specifications

The device offers a 6.44-inch Samsung Super AMOLED FHD+ display of 2400×1080 pixel resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. It supports HDR10+ and 100% DCI-P3 and 105% NTSC colour gamuts and houses an in-screen fingerprint sensor that is claimed to unlock in 0.27 seconds.
Realme X50 Pro comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage.

The handset is backed by a 4200mAh battery. Realme X50 Pro offers 65W fast charging support that is claimed to charge the device completely in 35 minutes. The smartphone offers a quad-camera setup on the back comprising a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW1 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 12MP telephoto lens and lastly a 2MP portrait camera. On the front, there is a dual front camera of 32MP + 8MP.

The Karnataka government has sought the help of ISRO on improving the efficiency of road transport corporations in the state, using its technology. Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi, who is also the Minister in-charge of Transport Department, met ISRO Chairman K Sivan at the space agency’s headquarters here on Wednesday and held discussions about rejuvenating the department.

Support was sought on improving quality and revenue, bringing down expenses and arresting leakage, while maintaining transparency.

“Discussions focused on further reviving the quality of functioning of the transport department, and a plan to improve the revenue of state transport corporations like- Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), North East and North West- KSRTC, Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), by bringing down its expenses, using ISRO’s technology,” Savadi’s office said in a statement.

Noting that passenger bus and goods services of state transport corporations are significant, it said, the DCM requested ISRO to provide scientific support in installing technology towards further improving the efficiency of these services.

He also sought ISRO’s support and guidance in maintaining transparency and to arrest leakages in transport corporations, it added.

The discussion also focused on effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the economy, especially in rural areas, and possibilities of using space technology in mitigating this.

“ISRO chairman has positively responded to issues raised by the DCM and has assured required technology support,” the statement added.

Microsoft Corp on Monday said it had won a five-year deal with Coca-Cola Co to supply business software, including its Teams chat app and tools for customer service agents.

The companies did not disclose the size of the deal but said it will include Dynamics 365, a suite of Microsoft tools that competes directly with Salesforce.com Inc.

Microsoft has a stronghold in general-purpose business software such as email and word processing apps but has been working to win more customers for its specialized software such as apps used by customer service and sales employees.

James Phillips, the corporate vice president for Microsoft’s business applications group, told Reuters in an interview that Coca-Cola will use Microsoft technology to pull together information several internal systems, using artificial intelligence to fetch data from them and answer questions.

In the first phase, Phillips said, Coke will offer the system internally to employees “rather than making the employee understand that you need to go over here to request vacation time, over there to look at your last payroll slip, or to some other system to understand what educational courses may be available.”

Barry Simpson, senior vice president and chief information and integrated services officer of Coca-Cola, said in a statement that Microsoft’s software would help the company by “replacing previously disparate and fragmented systems.”

Eventually, Microsoft’s Phillips said, Coca-Cola’s customer service agents plan to use system to help quickly answer questions from the beverage maker’s customers, which include major retailers and grocers.

Here’s how you can customise or blur your background during a Skype video call

Step 1: First, make sure that you have the latest version of Skype downloaded on your device. Skype says that the background improvements are not available for Windows 10 (Version 14)

Step 2: During a call, switch over the video button (video camera icon) or click the ‘More’ menu (three horizontal dots)

Step 3: Tap on ‘Choose background effect’

Step 4: Select ‘blur’ option and the background of your video call will be blurred

Step 5: Choose the ‘add image’ option and pick any image file on your device. You can also add a new image to customise your background effect.

The update also enables you to customise or blur your background for all Skype video calls. To do so, you will first need to click on your profile picture in Skype window and then tap on the ‘blur’ option under ‘Choose background effect’ tab. You can add image to customise background effect.

The feature is useful to avoid people in your background while making a work call from home. The Skype update also lets you share files directly from your Mac to your contacts on the app.

Microsoft also claims to have fixed some bugs and improved stability in this update.
